Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a Highways Performance Officer to act as a specialist advisor on performance management across highways maintenance, network and asset management. You will lead on the quality of our framework and ensure indicators are robust and meaningful.

You will work with internal teams, contractors and partners to capture, report and analyse data, identify trends, risks and opportunities, and support monthly governance reporting and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in a performance-focused environment, ideally highways.
• Strong knowledge of performance frameworks, systems and policies.
• Experience with contractors and performance against contracts.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
• Strong communication and reporting abilities.
• Proficiency in IT, especially Excel.
• Collaborative with internal teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Act as the highways team's expert on performance management, particularly quality and service delivery.
• Maintaining and developing the performance management framework, including alliance indicators.
• Ensuring performance data is accurately captured, reported and used as a true indicator of service performance.
• Analysing performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Monitoring contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and agreed outcomes.
• Contributing to monthly and governance reporting, including performance dashboards and board reports.
• Supporting service planning, improvement activities and wider performance initiatives.
