This is an exciting opportunity to join our highways maintenance team, where you'll play a vital role in delivering essential carriageway, footway and drainage works across the local area. As part of a close-knit team, you'll contribute to improving and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps our communities connected and safe.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Highways Operative, you'll be working within the maintenance team, supporting them in delivering high-quality highway repairs and improvements. Your day to day will include:

• -Operating light plant equipment including compressors, rollers, disc cutters and vibrating plates, whilst maintaining their daily upkeep
• -Assisting skilled team members with kerbing, drainage, paving, bricklaying and surfacing works
• -Excavating materials using hand and powered tools safely and efficiently
• -General site duties including sweeping, cleaning, litter picking and handling materials and equipment
• -Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive working environment for all team members
