Job summary

Kier Group in Yeovil, Somerset is seeking a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our Somerset team. You will support delivery of highway service requirements across the Somerset network, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in a safety-conscious role.

Responsibilities include reacting to defects, delivering minor schemes, recording works on tablets, operating plant and equipment, and promoting health and safety. A full driving licence is required; sponsorship is not available.

• Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs to the network, actively promoting health and safety in the workplace.

We're looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our Somerset team based in Yeovil, Somerset.

Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Salary: £27,976 to £30,000 depending on experience + call out + overtime

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our highways team, working to deliver efficient and timely highway service requirements across the Somerset network. You'll be involved in reactive works, emergency response, minor civils works and improvement projects, with involvement in winter maintenance activity and severe weather operations where required.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you'll be working within the Somerset team, supporting them in delivering highway service requirements across the network. Your day to day will include:

• Responding to defects on the highway within designated timescales, including installation and removal of emergency traffic management signage
• Delivering minor scheme work to improve the Somerset network
