Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Highways Maintenance Operative to join our Area 12 Highways Maintenance Team based in Broughton.

About Us

Collaborating closely with our client, National Highways, Amey takes pride in delivering top-tier Maintenance and Response services across Yorkshire and Humberside. Our responsibilities include routine and cyclic maintenance on trunk roads and motorways, covering 1,650 km of motorway, 476 km of dual carriageway trunk roads, 179 km of single carriageway trunk roads, and 1,963 structures. Our 200+ team members ensure vital maintenance and incident response to keep the public moving.

Role Responsibilities

• Installation of temporary traffic management
• Performing highway maintenance works, including routine, cyclic activities, minor civils’ works, litter picking, etc.
• Winter maintenance operations
• Emergency call-out operations
• Ensuring safety of yourself and others, complying with health and safety legislation
• Vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Recording driver hours and resource utilization
• Maintaining records and liaising with colleagues, clients, and the public

Candidate Requirements

• 12D RTM Operative (Mod T1/T2)
• Certifications: Abrasive Wheels, CAT Scanner (Highways), Emergency First Aid at Work (HSE), Environmental Awareness, CPC, CSCS
• Self-motivated and proactive
