Job summary

VolkerHighways in the United Kingdom is offering an entry-level apprenticeship as a General Operative across the south of the UK. You’ll learn on the job while working toward a nationally recognised Level 2 apprenticeship in Highways Maintenance.

You’ll join an operational project team, receive full training, attend college blocks, and gain hands-on site experience with support to progress within VolkerWessels UK group.

Qualifications

• Reliable, motivated and keen to learn.
• Interest in construction and outdoors.
• Willingness to obtain CSCS card.
• Flexible with early starts, nights, weekends.
• Commitment to attend training blocks.

Responsibilities

• Support project operational activities such as kerb laying and footway works.
• Learn to carry out tasks safely to required standard.
• Use tools, plant and equipment safely with training.
• Attend training blocks and apply learning on site.
• Follow health, safety, wellbeing and environmental procedures.
• Keep work areas tidy and safe.
• Report hazards, near misses or unsafe conditions.
• Represent VolkerHighways professionally on site.
