We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Highways Inspector to join our NMC NE account in Dundee.
Our NMC North East account has been working in partnership with Transport Scotland North East since August 2022. We are responsible for inspections, cyclical maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery, as well as winter maintenance and incident response.
The team is the first on the scene to assist road users, deliver engineering design, and operational services across more than 600 kilometres of road and 1,650 structures, ensuring reliable journey times and high customer care for users and businesses.
By maintaining roads and highways through all weather conditions and traffic incidents, we aim to create safe, well-functioning spaces that minimize disruption, keep people moving, and support thriving communities.
The Highways Inspector plays a key part in collecting safety data and identifying future improvements to safeguard the travelling public, clients, and Amey.
The standard hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday. We value work-life balance and offer flexible, hybrid, and part-time working options, with a network of offices across the UK to discuss suitable arrangements.

Ideally, you will have relevant inspector qualifications, including defect identification, monitoring, and PHS certification. Holding CSCS health and safety certification is essential. Experience with GIS systems like Q-GIS or ArcGIS is desirable. Professional memberships are a plus but not essential, as training will be provided.
