About the Company

Your New Role

The Works Inspector conducts site inspections and reports to the Senior Quality Works Inspector. Their primary responsibility is to ensure management and clients are confident that the delivery team and supply chain meet the specified standards and design requirements. This involves on-site coaching and training for the delivery team, followed by inspections to verify compliance. The role covers working in designated project areas and supporting various disciplines.

Duties

1. Ensure all quality documentation is in place and pre-start checks are completed before work begins.
2. Monitor the quality of materials through goods-inwards inspections.
3. Check works during progress and upon completion to ensure they meet specifications and design.
4. Conduct inspections and tests according to plans and produce necessary documentation promptly.
5. Proactively prevent substandard work by coaching and training the delivery team and supply chain.
6. Address non-compliance by producing Non-conformance Reports, taking preventive action, and closing them timely. Offer advice where applicable.
7. Support the Quality teams in site surveillances.
8. Assist in resolving quality issues and provide advice as needed.
9. Support the collation and completion of project record packages, including snagging and closing out DOWLS/Punchlist items.
10. Record and communicate quality lessons learned to the teams and supply chain.

Requirements

• Hold a relevant CSCS Card and Highways Passport.
• Received on-site training in Quality.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Experience in conducting onsite inspections against approved designs and generating assurance records.
• Knowledge of highways specifications and standards.
• Site supervisory or engineering experience in civil projects, preferably major highway schemes, or relevant Quality/Works Inspector experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
