Job description

Join our dynamic team in Essex as we conduct thorough highway structure inspections. You'll work both independently and collaboratively to enhance the asset information of bridges across the county.

As a key member of our inspection team, you'll execute our General and Principal Inspection programmes, using advanced technology like BridgeStation, and conducting inspections on foot, with MEWP, and drone techniques. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Undertake General Inspection of highway structures
  2. Undertake Principal Inspection of highway structures
  3. Identify and report defects accurately
  4. Report safety defects immediately
  5. Represent the company publicly and provide feedback on demand
  6. Produce well-presented, accurate reports and sketches
  7. Manage a challenging workload that may change at short notice
  8. Input defect data and photos into BridgeStation database
  9. Prepare defect sketches and photo location plans

Ideal Candidate:

  • Full driving license required due to county-wide travel
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of structural behaviour and inspection standards
  • Ability to assess risk and propose mitigation for safety defects
  • Experience liaising with the public
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in water and at height
