Job description

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Highways Engineer/Surveyor to join our dynamic Sheffield team at our Olive Grove Depot (S2 3GE). This role will be based on site.

This position offers a competitive salary and overtime.

In this role, you will support the Sheffield account by ensuring that all construction and maintenance projects are carried out efficiently and accurately. Your duties will include levelling and surveying construction sites, setting out project locations, and mapping structural boundaries on the ground. These responsibilities are crucial for maintaining the structural integrity and safety of our highways, thereby directly contributing to the success and reputation of the Sheffield account and the safety of others.

What You’ll Do:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation
  • Maintain effective communication with the client team, providing regular progress reports on schemes
  • Conduct levelling and surveying of construction sites
  • Accurately set out project locations based on plans, drawings, and building information models
  • Map structural boundaries on the ground with precision
  • Utilise levelling techniques to solve onsite challenges
  • Review completed scheme designs and offer buildability advice as necessary

What You’ll Bring:
  • Full UK Drivers License
  • An organised team player with the ability to communicate well with others
  • Engineering qualification minimum of HNC, or equivalent.
  • Highway construction background (desirable)
  • Experience of operating Leica Total Stations (desirable)
  • Operational Health and Safety experience or qualifications (desirable)
