Civil/Senior Engineer (Highways/Drainage)

Are you an experienced engineer looking for a new challenge in your career? Have you previously worked in a similar role within Highways and or Drainage works? Looking to gain further knowledge and experience within the sector to grow your career? Well then SCP Infrastructure & Design - An RSK Group company could have a great opportunity for you!

Within this role you will have confidence the to make key, evidenced based, design decisions and present reasonings to senior management team and external stakeholders. There will be an opportunity to also work with key stakeholders and senior team members on a wide range of projects across the business.

You will also have the ability and confidence to challenge others within the design team and offer solutions to engineering problems through their technical skills and understanding and make decisions to be agreed with senior members of the team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Experience in drawing production in accordance with standard procedures and quality of outputs.
• Provide technical leadership in at least one of the key core skills of the business.
• Plan and manage project team resources and ability to adapt resource plans to clients’ programmes to achieve deadlines.
• checking of drawings and calculations prepared by colleagues to improve the quality of deliverables.
• Undertake calculations and designs using an efficient and rationalised process to the latest design standards and, where applicable, using relevant design software to your chosen field of expertise.
• Show leadership with changes in legislation, codes of practice, design codes and proprietary suppliers and present summaries of changes and implement across the national teams.
  
  
  

Person specification & Experience:

You will have previous experience in the design of roads & sewers across a variety of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, energy, education and healthcare. You will also ideally have previous experience in the production and preparation of reports and documents relevant to chosen field of expertise and ability to lead without the direction of senior colleagues, including a Flood Risk Assessments, Operation and maintenance manuals and Drainage strategy Report.

You will be a strong communicator with exceptional listening and communication skills, with a strong ability to work efficiently as part of a team and individually. Experience in the use of Microsoft products including Excel, Word and Power Point would be essential.

Salary: £35,000 - £50,000

Full UK driving licence will be required for this role.
