Job summary

Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd. is recruiting for Senior / Design Engineer to deliver highways drainage design for major UK schemes. The role focuses on developing drainage solutions in line with National Highways standards and producing drawings, calculations and design documents.

You will support hydraulic modelling, work within multidisciplinary teams, and help resolve design challenges across the project lifecycle. Hybrid working applies with two office days per week.

Senior / Design Engineer - Highways Drainage

Contract | £400 - £500 per day Umbrella | Hybrid Working

Locations: Ipswich, Exeter or Salford. Working Arrangements: 2 days office / 3 days home. Rate: £400-£500 per day (Umbrella).

Highfield is working with a leading UK infrastructure and engineering contractor to recruit experienced Senior Design Engineers and Design Engineers to support the delivery of major highways schemes across the UK.

The Role

• Undertaking highways drainage design for major infrastructure projects.
• Developing drainage solutions in accordance with relevant National Highways standards.
• Producing and reviewing technical drawings, calculations and design documentation.
• Supporting hydraulic modelling and drainage assessments.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure effective project delivery.
• Identifying and resolving technical design challenges.
• Supporting design coordination and technical reviews throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Previous experience delivering highways drainage design.
• Experience working on National Highways schemes.
• Strong understanding of relevant highways drainage design standards.
• Experience working within a civil engineering or infrastructure design environment.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.

Desirable

• Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Experience with hydraulic modelling software.
• Previous involvement in major motorway or trunk road improvement schemes.
