Job summary

Wigan Council is seeking a Technical Officer in the Highways and Network Management Service to support the delivery of new development infrastructure across the borough. You will assess submissions, manage highway agreements, and ensure roads meet adoptable standards, while collaborating with developers, consultants and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways, civil engineering or development-related infrastructure.
• Understanding of highway construction, traffic management and highways legislation.
• Ability to assess technical submissions and monitor financial contributions.

Responsibilities

• Manage Section 38 and Section 278 agreements.
• Assess development submissions and ensure adoptable road standards.
