Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a Highways Civil Engineering Team Leader in Alnwick to lead a surfacing crew at Lionheart Depot. You will manage safety, planning, and day-to-day operations, coordinating with contracts managers and site teams to meet schedules and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading highways surfacing crews and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of H&S requirements and environmental regs.
• Ability to plan and coordinate daily activities to schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead surfacing crew and subcontractors on active highways/sites.
• Deliver start-of-shift briefings and safety plans.
• Coordinate activities with contracts managers and site teams.
• Ensure materials laid to BS tolerances and specs.
• Oversee pre-start checks and operation of surfacing plant.
• Complete daily paperwork and QA records.
