Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Highways Planned Delivery CAD Resource in Chichester for a 3-month contract with a local authority. You will provide high-quality CAD support for highway and engineering projects, produce accurate drawings, interpret utilities and statutory information, and support data-driven tasks such as mapping and statistical searches.

Qualifications

• Significant experience using CAD at a high level in highway/engineering design.
• Ability to produce accurate, technically detailed highway designs.
• Strong understanding of highway design principles and engineering drawings.
• Experience interpreting utilities and infrastructure information for technical designs.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality technical highway and engineering designs using CAD software.
• Act as a high-level CAD user with strong technical knowledge for highway design.
• Prepare accurate drawings and design documentation per standards and specifications.
• Interpret utilities and statutory undertaker information into technical designs.
• Review drawings, plans, surveys and information to identify issues and ensure accuracy.
• Undertake mapping, data analysis, statistics, and data-driven activities for highway planning.
• Collaborate with engineering, planning, surveying and other colleagues to deliver solutions.
• Ensure outputs are accurate and consistent across CAD outputs and data.
• Manage allocated work independently, prioritising tasks and deadlines.
• Identify discrepancies or missing information and take corrective action.
• Maintain and organise technical drawings and records per procedures.
• Support wider Highways Planned Delivery with technical activities as required.
• Keep up to date with CAD practices, highway design standards, and systems.
• Demonstrate proactive, self-starting approach and contribute to process improvements.
