Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Highways Asset Manager to join a Buckinghamshire council on a permanent, full-time basis. The role offers a salary of £80,000–£82,000 per year and a chance to lead asset management plans and lifecycle programmes.

You will act as a senior technical representative with stakeholders, manage capital and revenue budgets up to £75m, and oversee devolution arrangements and income generation activities while monitoring performance.

• Developing, maintaining and delivering comprehensive highways asset management plans, including lifecycle planning, inventory and condition data, and short- and medium-term programmes.
• Acting as a senior technical representative for the council, engaging with members, senior officers, government departments (including DfT), partners and the public.
• Managing and influencing significant capital and revenue budgets (up to £75m), ensuring value for money and robust financial planning.
• Overseeing devolution arrangements, income generation activities (including highway advertisements), and performance monitoring.
