Job summary

Hampshire County Council is recruiting a Highway Technician to join our Highways Delivery team at the Hook and Bishops Waltham depots. Qualifications

• A motivated person with a willingness to learn.
• Interest and appreciation of highway engineering and the management/ maintenance of a large road network.
• A team player with strong collaborative skills.
• Excellent communication skills for building positive relationships with a diverse range of people, including colleagues, contractors, members of the public and local councillors.
• Sound IT skills and able to accurately record information.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in delivering a wide range of highway repairs across Hampshire.
• Respond to highway emergencies and adverse weather events.
• Support highway enforcement to enable efficient use of Hampshire’s highway network.
• Travel as required; must have a full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Be available to work out of hours when needed.
