Base pay range

Equans is looking for a Highway Road Worker to join our team in our North East Lincolnshire Partnership in Grimsby on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary between

£24,570 - £28,181 depending on experience, and benefits package.

The individual will be part of a team responsible for highway maintenance, ensuring safety for all users, with regard to safety, serviceability, and sustainability.

Please note applicants should hold a Category C driving license.

What will you deliver?
  • Erection and removal of traffic management in accordance with relevant safety codes.
  • Driving highway vehicles and tippers, subject to license, training, and competency.
  • Operation of powered plant and equipment, such as compaction equipment, cutters, saws, breakers, rollers, and specialized ride-on plant, subject to license, training, and competency.
  • Mixing, laying, leveling, and compaction of bituminous materials, mortars, cements, and concretes; installation of precast kerbs and paving.
  • Installation and maintenance of highway street furniture, signs, guardrails, fencing, and signage.
  • Reconstruction of inspection chambers, catchpits, and road gullies, including adjustment of gratings and covers.
  • Accurate record-keeping, including timesheets, work records, and vehicle inspections.
  • Compliance with SHEQ standards and policies, aligned with ISO 18001, 14001, and 9001 standards.

Who are we looking for?
  • Experience or aptitude in construction activities; training provided if needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding environments and maintain accurate records.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and committed to professional development.
  • Flexibility for out-of-hours work and participation in emergency rotas.
  • Hold a Category C driving license, Driver CPC, and experience with highway tipper vehicles.
  • Preferably hold City and Guilds Streetworks Operative Accreditation or be trained in Chapter 8 Traffic Signing and Guarding.
