You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.
This role will cover East Exeter and surrounding area.

What will you be doing?
The role will be focusing on the delivery of planned inspections in accordance with Highway inspection Programme. Where opportunities exist use available time to attend and triage Public reported defects.
You'll report to the Highway Inspection Supervisors raising any potential delays to the completion of planned Highway inspections
Where network conditions are appropriate and safe, ensure repair areas / safety defects are marked or referenced using spray paint or chalk.
Meeting reasonable productivity expectations as agreed by the Highway Inspection Supervisors.
We'll ask you to identify, inspect and assess safety defects in accordance with the Highway Inspection Manual to determine if they meet the criteria for repair.
Accurately recording defect information and apply the requirements of the risk matrix to establish the appropriate response priority.
Provide all necessary technical details to support the efficient first-time repair of safety defects.
You'll identify serviceability issues for locations where alternative treatments are considered a useful preventative treatment. Providing accurate written information relating to the defence of third-party accident claims. Which may on occasion, require the preparation of a formal statement and court attendance.
Identify and undertake repair of safety defects where the Highway Inspector has the equipment, knowledge and competence, to safely deliver repairs e.g. overhanging vegetation, twisted sign plates etc.
