A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Highly Specialist Orthoptist to join their team. This part-time role involves providing specialist assessments and treatments, managing a caseload, and contributing to service governance. The position requires travel within various regions and offers a Monday to Friday schedule.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Please note that the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Orthoptist to join the Orthoptic Clyde team on a permanent basis. This part-time role involves working 29.7 hours per week at the RAH in Paisley, covering the Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, VOL, and Argyll & Bute areas. The post may require travel and overnight stays in these regions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing highly specialist orthoptic assessments and treatments autonomously. They will manage their own caseload, serve as a source of expertise to orthoptic staff and the wider multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the management, professional leadership, and governance of the orthoptic service. This includes overseeing safe and effective day-to-day operational management and clinical delivery in both acute and community settings.
Experience working with stroke patients, motility patients, general paediatric patients, and students is desirable.
