Location: Southampton | Key Stages: 1 & 2 | Hours: Part-Time | Sector: Primary Education

GSL Education are seeking a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work on a part-time basis in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southampton. This role involves covering lessons across Key Stages 1 and 2, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher.

HLTA Role Overview:
As a part-time HLTA, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting pupils in achieving their learning goals.

Your main duties will include:

• Lesson Delivery: Leading whole-class teaching in the absence of the class teacher, using prepared plans and resources.
• Classroom Management: Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
• Pupil Support: Assisting with differentiation and supporting individual pupil needs during lessons.
• Collaboration: Working closely with teachers and school staff to ensure consistency in pupil learning and behaviour.
• Assessment Support: Assisting with the monitoring and reporting of pupil progress as needed.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in delivering lessons to primary-aged pupils.
• Previous experience working in a primary school setting across Key Stages 1 and/or 2.
• Strong behaviour management skills and a confident classroom presence.
• A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
