Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment are seeking a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a primary school in Leicester. The role involves leading learning activities, supporting the class teacher, and delivering pre-planned lessons when needed.

You will provide targeted pupil support across the primary age range, adapt resources for different abilities, monitor progress, and contribute to a positive classroom environment. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead lessons and learning activities for individuals, small groups and whole classes when required.
• Support the class teacher with planning, preparation and delivery of lessons.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the teacher's absence.
• Provide targeted support to pupils who require additional help with their learning.
• Adapt resources and activities to meet different abilities and learning styles.
• Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Assist with assessing and recording pupil progress.
• Support and guide Teaching Assistants within the classroom where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school team.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and support school policies and procedures.

Luma Education Recruitment are currently recruiting for a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a primary school setting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is ready to take on greater responsibility within the classroom, lead learning activities and provide high-quality support to pupils across the primary age range.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead lessons and learning activities for individuals, small groups and whole classes when required.
• Support the class teacher with planning, preparation and delivery of lessons.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the teacher's absence.
• Provide targeted support to pupils who require additional help with their learning.
• Adapt resources and activities to meet different abilities and learning styles.
• Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Assist with assessing and recording pupil progress.
• Support positive behaviour and maintain a safe, calm and productive classroom environment.
• Build positive and professional relationships with pupils.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Support and guide Teaching Assistants within the classroom where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school team.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and support school policies and procedures.

An ongoing position with view of temporary to permanent options available.
