Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in Caterham is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming school. You will support pupils across the classroom, deliver planned activities and provide classroom cover when needed.

The successful HLTA will lead targeted interventions, adapt activities to meet diverse needs, and support pupils with SEND while working closely with teachers to ensure every child thrives in a calm, structured environment.

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Caterham. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys taking the lead, supporting pupils across the classroom and making a real difference every day.

You’ll be working closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child has the chance to thrive.

What you’ll be doing

• Delivering planned learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes

We’d love to hear from you if you have

• Previous experience working as an HLTA or in a similar higher-level support role
• A recognised HLTA qualification, or relevant experience supporting teaching and learning
• Confidence delivering lessons and managing a classroom independently
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, positive approach
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including adapting learning to individual needs
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine ability to build positive relationships

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
