Job summary

Quest Primary School, part of The Collegiate Trust, is looking for a skilled and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning across the school, working under the guidance of teaching staff and the Senior Leadership Team.

Day to day, you will cover classes independently and teach curriculum lessons, provide PPA and release cover as scheduled by SLT, plan, deliver and assess targeted intervention and

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
• GCSE English and Maths (C or above).
• Experience covering whole classes with primary-aged children.
• Understanding of safeguarding and effective behaviour management.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Experience supporting intervention groups and SEND.

Responsibilities

• Cover classes independently and teach curriculum lessons.
• Provide PPA and release cover as scheduled by SLT.

• Provide pastoral care and support for pupils with SEND.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and a safe learning environment.

Day to day, you will cover classes independently and teach curriculum lessons, provide PPA and release cover as scheduled by SLT, and plan, deliver and assess targeted intervention and booster groups to help pupils reach their potential. You will also provide pastoral care, including support for children with SEND, maintain high standards of behaviour, and help create an engaging, well-organised and safe learning environment. Break and lunchtime supervision is part of the role.

We are looking for someone with HLTA status or an equivalent qualification, at least GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in English and maths, and experience of covering whole classes and working with primary-aged children. A good understanding of safeguarding, effective behaviour management skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families are essential. Experience of supporting intervention groups and working with children with SEND is also important to us.
