Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Reading
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: 105 - 145 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, long-term

An inclusive and welcoming primary school in Reading is looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support teaching and learning across the school. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2025.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading whole-class lessons in the absence of the teacher
  • Delivering group interventions and supporting pupil progress
  • Assisting with planning, preparation, and assessments
  • Supporting behaviour management and pupil wellbeing
  • Collaborating with teachers and SENCO to support individual learning needs

What we're looking for:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary school
  • Ability to lead lessons independently
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A nurturing, proactive approach to pupil development
