Job summary

Eteach International is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for St Mark's School in Bath. The role involves leading targeted interventions, delivering EHCP requirements, and promoting an inclusive learning environment for pupils with diverse needs.

You will work under the SENCO and teaching staff to plan and deliver 1:1 and small group interventions, support ICT-enabled learning, and contribute to progress records and feedback.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy (GCSE 4/C) plus NVQ Level 2 for TAs or equivalent, or 3 years LSA/TA experience.
• Experience with children and running targeted interventions for pupils with complex needs.
• Strong ICT skills to support learning and administrative tasks (Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions, including literacy programs and SALT support.
• Implement EHCP requirements and develop target action plans with tailored strategies.

We are seeking an enthusiastic HLTA to join our team in delivering high-quality, targeted support for students with diverse learning and Special Educational Needs.Working closely under the guidance of our SENCO and teaching staff, you will take a leading role in running specialised interventions, delivering EHCP requirements, and promoting an inclusive, empowering environment where every pupil can succeed.**Key Responsibilities*** Plan and deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions, including literacy programs, Lego Therapy, and Speech & Language Therapy (SALT) support sessions.* Implement pupil EHCP requirements, assist with developing target action plans, and apply tailored strategies based on individual student profiles.* Support classroom management, create engaging learning displays, assist with activity planning, update pupil progress records, and provide clear feedback to teachers.* Use varied approaches and ICT tools to boost literacy and numeracy skills, adapting activities dynamically to student responses.* Build positive relationships, act as a role model, foster pupil self-esteem, encourage peer integration, and assist with supervision during break times or school trips.**What We Are Looking For****Essential**:* Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy (GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent), plus NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent qualification/experience with DfES TA Induction completion) OR at least 3 years of relevant LSA/TA experience.* Demonstrable experience working with children, running specialised intervention strategies for pupils with complex needs, and working under general supervision.* Strong ICT skills to support learning and administrative tasks (e.g., Google Suite, data entry).* Ability to build strong relationships with both children and adults, with a good understanding of child development, welfare, and classroom dynamics.**Desirable**:* First Aid qualification.* Formal training in SEN strategies or basic literacy/numeracy intervention programs.* General understanding of the National Curriculum and relevant codes of practice.**Safeguarding Statement**Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
