Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Primary
Location: East Tilbury
Rate: £90 to £130 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier if available)
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant primary school in East Tilbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on students’ learning journeys while working in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

About the Role:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You’ll work closely with teachers to plan and deliver lessons, lead small group interventions, and provide targeted support to pupils with varying needs.

Key Responsibilities of HLTA:

  • Lead Learning Activities: Deliver pre-planned lessons and interventions under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Support Curriculum Delivery: Assist in the planning and preparation of lessons, adapting materials to meet student needs.
  • Monitor and Assess Progress: Track student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Promote Inclusion: Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all pupils.
  • Mentor and Guide: Support less experienced TAs and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support student development.

Requirements of HLTA:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with HLTA status or equivalent.
  • Qualifications: HLTA qualification or relevant training (desirable).
  • Skills: Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment: A genuine passion for education and a dedication to student success.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work flexibly across different year groups and subjects.
  • Competitive Pay: Daily rate of £90 to £130, based on experience and qualifications.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one.
