Job summary

ANZUK Education are seeking a confident HLTA to support KS1/KS2 in Taunton. You will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher, assist with learning and classroom prep, and coordinate group activities. DBS required and eligibility to work in the UK is essential.

The role is temporary with daily pay of £100–£120, offering exposure to diverse classrooms and supportive consultant guidance.

Qualifications

• Six months+ hands-on experience with children in educational settings.

Job role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Taunton

Pay Range: £100 - £120 per day

The HLTA role:

ANZUK Education are seeking confident, skilled professionals ready to step into a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant role, taking on a more involved position within the classroom. This includes leading KS1 and/or KS2 lessons when required, supporting lesson preparation, and contributing directly to teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities of a HLTA:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons to pupils across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) in the absence of the teacher
• Assisting pupils in their learning and helping prepare the classroom
• Coordinating group activities with various groups of pupils
• Working in accordance with the school's policies
• Providing frequent feedback to both parents and other members of staff

The ideal HLTA will:

• Demonstrate a minimum of six months of hands-on experience working with children in an educational setting
• Hold an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of safeguarding
• Legal entitlement to work in the United Kingdom, with appropriate documentation
• Demonstrate proficient communication and interpersonal skills, highlighting the skill to engage with students of varied learning needs
• Display patience, empathy, and a genuine dedication to supporting children, especially those with SEN and SEMH requirements
• Capable of collaborating effectively within a team, cultivating an inclusive learning environment
