Job Description

The HLTA role is vital to the school and involves the planning and preparing of lessons and learning activities. You will be required to cover full classes in the absence of colleagues. You will also manage and supervise pupil behaviour and contribute to effective school administration.

This role is a permanent post, working 26 hours per week over 4 days, during term time plus 5 INSET days.

Successful applicants should have:
  • The Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Evidence of a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Experience teaching within Key Stages 1 and 2
  • Excellent classroom practice and the ability to create an achievement-oriented atmosphere
You should:
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Build effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Contribute effectively to team support
  • Be willing and able to move between key stages if required
  • Possess ICT skills for personal and classroom use
  • Be highly organised and able to work independently
