Job summary

CER Education Recruitment is seeking confident Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across a variety of primary schools in Rotherham. Flexible supply opportunities include day-to-day, short-term, and long-term placements.

Roles involve leading learning when required, supporting pupils, and working with school leaders to maintain high standards of education. DBS checks are typically required.

Qualifications

• HLTA Status or a relevant Level 4 qualification.
• Previous experience in UK primary schools.
• Experience leading whole-class teaching and covering lessons.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Provide classroom cover across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Support teaching and learning in 1:1, small groups and whole-class settings.
• Deliver targeted interventions to raise attainment.
• Support pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff.

CER Education Recruitment is currently seeking confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across a variety of primary schools throughout Rotherham.

We have a range of opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term cover, and long-term placements. This role is ideal for experienced support staff who enjoy working across different year groups and are confident leading learning when required.

The Role

As a Supply HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the primary age range. Working closely with class teachers and school leaders, you will help ensure pupils receive the highest standard of support and education.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Delivering planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
• Providing classroom cover across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
• Supporting teaching and learning in whole-class, small-group, and 1:1 settings
• Delivering targeted interventions to raise attainment
• Supporting pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
• Promoting a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

What We’re Looking For

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• HLTA Status or a relevant Level 4 qualification
• Previous experience working within a UK primary school
• Experience leading whole-class learning and covering lessons
• Strong classroom management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• A flexible and adaptable approach to working in different school settings
• A passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
