Job summary

Tiger Primary School in Kent invites applications for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. This permanent, full-time role is 37 hours per week, 8.00am–4.00pm Mon-Thu and 8.00am–3.30pm Fri, 38 weeks per year plus five days.

The HLTA will cover classes across EYFS to KS2, lead learning, support teachers, and liaise with families to support pupil progress. GCSE English and Maths are required, with a proactive, collaborative approach valued.

Qualifications

  • Hold GCSE qualifications, or equivalent, in English and mathematics.
  • Experience of leading whole-class learning.
  • Confident in managing behaviour and communicating professionally with parents.
  • Motivated, flexible and able to use their own initiative.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and value every child.
  • Be a positive and consistent role model for our pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Cover classes across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • Deliver and adapt planned lessons, manage behaviour and routines.
  • Mark pupils’ work and speak to parents when necessary.
  • Support year groups and teachers through interventions and in-class support.

Tiger Primary School has an exciting opportunity toappoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, working 37 hours per week:8.00am–4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am–3.30pm on Friday. This is a permanent role, working 38 weeks per year plus an additional five days.

We are looking for a motivated, committed and experiencedHigher Level Teaching Assistant to join our Tiger family. This is an excitingopportunity to become part of a friendly and hardworking team within a schooldetermined to achieve the highest standards for all its pupils.

The majority of the role will involve covering classesacross EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The successful applicant will beconfident leading whole-class learning, delivering and adapting plannedlessons, managing behaviour and maintaining established classroom routines.They will also be expected to mark pupils’ work and speak to parents wherenecessary.

When not covering classes, the HLTA will be deployedflexibly to support year groups and teachers through targeted interventions andin-class support. Experience of working across EYFS and both key stages istherefore highly desirable.

The successful applicant will be able to work effectivelyunder direction while also using their own initiative. They will build positiverelationships with pupils, colleagues and parents, and demonstrate patience,care and respect for every child.
