Job summary

Supply Desk is consulting for a HLTA to support children with additional needs in Hedge End. The post is four days per week with hours 8:00–15:30 and a September 2026 start date. Driving may be required.

You will adapt planning and resources for individuals and groups, and oversee a small SEND provision. Experience with trauma, autism, ADHD, and related needs is valued. Applicants should have an HLTA qualification or CACHE Level 3 or a degree in education, along with the right to work in the UK

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or CACHE Level 3 or a degree in Education is required.
• Experience with SEND and managing classroom support is beneficial.
• Ability to work four days a week in Hedge End location.

Responsibilities

• Adapt planning and resources to meet group and individual needs.
• Oversee a small SEND provision and lead a small team.
• Support children with trauma, autism, ADHD and other needs.
• Collaborate in planning and assessment with teaching staff.
• Be an active member of the school community and support others.

Overview

HLTA – Pay £95-£105. Location Hedge End suburbs. Hours: 8am – 3.30pm, full time. Start – September 2026. HLTA – would need to drive.

A vibrant and high achieving primary school in the Hedge End suburbs is seeking an HLTA four days a week to support children with additional needs and take classes when a teacher is absent. This could be a job share role for the right candidate who has experience and is qualified.

Responsibilities

• To be able to adapt planning and resources to suit the needs of the group and individuals
• To be in charge of a small SEND provision and oversee a small team
• Have experience of working with a wide range of needs including: Trauma, Autism, ADHD, Attachment challenges etc
• Take part in collaborative planning and assessment
• Be confident to support individuals with additional needs
• Be an active member of the wider school community

Minimum requirements

• Have the right to work in the UK
• 2 Years’ worth of references
• A current DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
• Have an HLTA qualification/a level 3 CACHE certification/ a degree in education
