Salary: (pro rata of £32,533 to £33,985 per annum)

Start date: ASAP

Woodhill Primary School is part of Inspire Partnership Academy Trust, a family of schools across Greenwich, Medway and Croydon who aim to offer a life changing education to children. Our schools work in collaboration to transform the lives of the children and communities we serve.

The Role:

Woodhill Primary School is looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).

The role of HLTA at Woodhill is an integral one to support both the teachers who are taking their PPA and the children's learning in the classroom. The HLTA takes on greater responsibility than a TA, including covering classes and planning and teaching their own lessons. You must have experience of teaching in EYFS, key stage one and key stage two. You must have a strong knowledge of the EYFS and primary curriculum from key stage one up to key stage two. You must ensure you have the capacity and flexibility to be deployed across the school to provide high quality teaching and learning whilst maintaining strong relationships and behaviour for learning.

Our children are curious learners, who engage readily with their learning, consistently demonstrate our values and want to do their very best. Excellent practices and systems in our school, support children with additional needs to be successful and confident. Our curriculum is world class. Through our global themes, we provide our children with opportunities to make sense of the world they live in, think critically about world issues and to develop an awareness of the impact our actions can have on others.

Teaching and learning is at the heart of our work. Our staff are incredibly committed to their own professional development and regularly undertake research projects to enhance their practice. Along with this, they are warm, engaging and supportive practitioners who make the best colleagues to work alongside.

The successful candidate will be someone who is keen to build on their passion for providing our young people with the very best learning experiences.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working with children with special educational needs would be an advantage.

  • Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils.

  • Lead lessons and ensure provision is in place in the teacher's absence.

  • Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement.

We can offer:

  • A happy, vibrant and welcoming school.

  • Motivated children who are excited about their learning.

  • A supportive and forward thinking leadership team.

  • A commitment to professional development for all staff.
