Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Blaxhall to support learners and work alongside qualified teachers. The role focuses on advancing pupils' learning, independence, and inclusive practice.

You will contribute to lesson planning, deliver targeted support, and lead in classrooms when required, with safeguarding and DBS checks. Immediate start and competitive daily pay from £90 to £130 depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • HLTA / Level 3 EYFS qualification or equivalent.

  • Sound understanding of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).

Responsibilities

  • Implement observation and record-keeping systems to monitor pupil progress.
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs through targeted programmes and IEP targets.
  • Evaluate pupil progress using a range of assessment techniques.

What Will You Do?
  • Implement systems of observation and record-keeping to assess children's progress and achievements effectively.
  • Support pupils with special educational needs through specific learning programmes, contributing to individual education plan (IEHCP) targets and reviews.
  • Evaluate pupils' progress using a range of assessment techniques.
  • Meet the personal needs of pupils while encouraging their independence.

What Are We Looking For?
  • HLTA / Level 3 early years education and childcare qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with additional learning needs.
  • Sound understanding of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
  • Ability to observe, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on pupil progress.
  • In-depth knowledge of statutory requirements for the provision of care for children aged three to five years.
  • Commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
