Job summary

John Perry Primary School is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive team. The role involves leading learning across the school, covering PPA and leadership time, and delivering high-quality experiences to support pupil progress and attainment.

The successful candidate will work closely with staff to promote inclusion, build strong relationships with pupils, and contribute to a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Holds HLLSA status or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a primary school setting.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
  • High expectations of all pupils and ambition to raise attainment.
  • Excellent communication with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality learning to whole classes or groups, including PPA/leadership release time.
  • Assess and record pupil progress and deliver targeted interventions.
  • Promote inclusive practice so all pupils access the curriculum.
  • Prepare resources and use ICT effectively in learning.
  • Build positive relationships to foster independence, confidence and engagement.
  • Collaborate with staff to monitor progress and raise attainment.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support pupil development.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment in line with safeguarding.
  • Maintain accurate records and liaise with colleagues, parents and external agencies.
  • Undertake wider school duties including supervision, first aid, and educational visits.

About the role:

Weare seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Higher Level LearningSupport Assistant (HLLSA) to join our committed and supportive team. This is anexcellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a vibrant primaryschool community.


Thesuccessful candidate will lead learning across the school, including coveringteachers’ PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment), ECT and leadership time.You will deliver high-quality learning experiences, support pupil progress andcontribute to raising attainment for all pupils.


Key Responsibilitiesand Duties


  • Deliver high-quality learning to whole classes orgroups, including covering PPA, ECT and leadership release time

  • Assess and record pupil progress, including deliveringtargeted interventions

  • Promote inclusive practice, ensuring all pupils canaccess and achieve within the curriculum

  • Prepare resources and support the effective use of ICTin learning

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, fosteringindependence, confidence and engagement

  • Work collaboratively with staff to monitor progressand raise attainment

  • Provide constructive feedback to support pupildevelopment

  • Contribute to a safe, stimulating and well-managedlearning environment

  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils inline with statutory requirements

  • Maintain accurate records and liaise effectively withcolleagues, parents and external agencies

  • Undertake wider school duties, including supervision,first aid, extracurricular activities and educational visits
