Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support students’ academic, social and emotional development in a positive learning environment. You will assist with 1:1 and small group support, help teachers deliver lessons and promote safeguarding.

The role requires good communication, patience and the ability to work as part of a team. DBS check and experience with SEND are desirable; salary is competitive based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with children or young people is desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Experience supporting students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs.
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Behaviour management or safeguarding training.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Help students develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
  • Provide additional support to pupils with SEND as required.
  • Adapt learning resources to meet individual student needs.
  • Support classroom behaviour management and positive interactions.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to staff.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, displays and administrative tasks.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion at all times.
  • Support students during breaktimes, trips and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external professionals.
