Job summary

City of Bristol College is hiring a Higher Learning Assistant to support students with learning needs across four campus sites. You will work within the Learning Support Team to provide direct in-class assistance and help manage exam access arrangements, contributing to positive educational outcomes.

The role involves coordinating Learning Assistant timetables for vulnerable students and collaborating with ALS colleagues and teachers to create an inclusive learning space.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class support to students and help reduce barriers to learning.
  • Assist in allocating Learning Assistant timetables to support vulnerable students.
  • Complete accurate file notes for exam access arrangements and student support.
  • Collaborate with ALS colleagues, teachers and internal stakeholders to foster a supportive learning environment.

About your role:

The Higher Learning Assistant role is essential in ensuring that our Learning Assistants have the support they need to effectively assist our students. You will act as a valuable resource for day-to-day queries and contribute to the overall success of our educational programs. The Learning Support Team support high needs students who require exam access arrangements and you will be crucial in making this happen by completing accurate and Informative file notes. As the Higher Learning Assistant, you will assist the allocation of Learning Assistant timetables to ensure that our vulnerable students receive the support they need. You'll deliver direct In-class support to students, helping to reduce barriers to learning while enhancing their educational outcomes. As a key member of our Learning Support Team, you will collaborate closely with other Additional Learning Support (ALS) colleagues, teachers, and other key Internal stakeholders to foster a supportive learning environment.
