Job summary

Yeovil College is seeking an Institutional Outreach Officer to inspire young people and raise aspirations about Higher Education across Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. You will plan and deliver outreach activities, organise visits, and develop resources in collaboration with the NSSW partnership.

You will build strong relationships with schools and partners, support learners from disadvantaged backgrounds, and guide students through UCAS, finance and progression routes.

Qualifications

• Passion for raising aspirations and helping young people see the opportunities Higher Education can offer.
• Confident communication with students, schools, colleges, universities and a wide range of partners.
• Strong organisation and initiative to coordinate activities, visits, resources and events from planning through to delivery.
• Knowledge of Higher Education including UCAS, student finance, entry requirements and progression routes, or the enthusiasm to develop this knowledge.
• A Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience, with a good standard of written and verbal communication.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to widening access, supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds to progress into Higher Education.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver engaging outreach activities across the region.
• Organise events, university visits and student ambassador opportunities to raise awareness of HE.
• Develop resources and monitor the impact of outreach activities.
• Build strong relationships with schools and partner organisations across Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
