Job summary

Select Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established hospitality group for a General Manager to lead a busy, high-footfall pub with a strong bar trade, food offering, live entertainment and televised sport.

You will drive sales, control costs, lead a capable team and maintain licensing, safety and service standards while building a welcoming atmosphere. Salary and hours will be confirmed during recruitment; live-in accommodation may be considered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a high-volume, wet-led pub or bar.
• Strong track record of driving sales and controlling costs.
• Experience with busy weekend trading, sport and entertainment.
• Excellent bar, cellar and stock management knowledge.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to build a reliable team.
• Sound understanding of licensing and operational compliance.
• Hands-on approach, commercial awareness and ability to work under pressure.
• Valid personal licence.

Responsibilities

• Driving sales, profitability and cost control through effective financial and stock management.
• Leading bar operations and maintaining excellent service, cellar and product standards.
• Coordinating live entertainment, sporting events, promotions and seasonal activity.
• Overseeing the food offering in partnership with the kitchen team.
• Recruiting, developing and motivating a strong team, including future management talent.
• Maintaining licensing, security, health and safety and responsible service standards.
• Growing repeat business through customer engagement, local relationships and events.
• Monitoring performance and implementing improvements in collaboration with senior management.
