Job summary

Prysmian Group in the High Voltage Laboratory at Bishopstoke is recruiting a Laboratory Jointing Technician to work on contract type tests and R&D activities. The role requires a practical, safety‑minded approach and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑moving environment, with some overtime.

You will assist with XLPE and fluid filled cable projects, support test engineers, perform optical fibre jointing, help with housekeeping, plant maintenance, degasification and filing related to

Qualifications

• Can-do attitude and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work flexibly to meet deadlines.
• FLT licence desirable; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Work on XLPE and fluid filled cable projects, assisting high voltage cable jointers.
• Assist high voltage test engineers in the setting up of tests.
• Perform optical fibre jointing and testing.
• Assist with general laboratory housekeeping.
• Assist in plant maintenance activities.
• Perform degasification and filing operations related to cable terminations.
