Job summary

Prysmian is seeking a Jointers Enabling Engineer to join our team in Eastleigh. You’ll oversee jointing works on site, ensure safe practices, and develop new jointing techniques in collaboration with the High Voltage Laboratory.

The role involves preparing procedures, tooling lists, and attending major projects to ensure quality and timely solutions. Travel is required; weekend travel is rare.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering as they apply to accessory design and assembly.
• Experience preparing joints, terminations and other accessories with a wide variety of cables.
• Ability to pass this knowledge verbally and in writing to all levels of jointing personnel.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Attend site to oversee and ensure good, safe practice.
• Prepare and maintain ENG‑DP‑103, Jointing Section Procedures and Jointing Instructions.
• Develop new jointing techniques with the High Voltage Laboratory team.
• Prepare tooling lists for each project with Sales Office and Cable Accessories.
• Attend initial jointing works on major projects to ensure information is adequate and correct.
• Attend project sites to identify causes of problems and lead solution development.
• Support the Jointing School training functions.
• Support the Jointing Operations Manager.
• Represent the jointing function at meetings with customers, consultants and other company parts.
