Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited is hiring a Power Electronics System Engineer to join our UK team in Gaydon. You will contribute to the design, development and validation of high-voltage power conversion systems for electric vehicle applications, collaborating with global cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient solutions.

You will work across system architecture, requirements, simulation, component selection and verification, applying robust topologies and conducting root cause

Qualifications

• Experience with 400V/800V HV vehicle architectures and battery systems.
• Deep understanding of power semiconductor technologies (IGBT/MOSFET/SiC/GaN).
• Hands-on knowledge of switching converters and traction inverter topologies.
• Experience in system-level validation and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of embedded systems hardware and memory architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate high-voltage power conversion systems for EV applications.
• Define system architectures and develop technical requirements for HV applications.
• Apply HV/LV conversion topologies and power supply concepts.
• Select and evaluate power electronic components (MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, GaN).
• Perform power-loss estimation and thermal analysis for power devices.
• Develop model-based loss assessments using MATLAB/Simulink and circuit simulations (PSpice/LTspice).
• Plan and prioritise engineering activities within global Agile teams (Scrum).
