Job summary

Siemens Energy Limited in the UK & Ireland is seeking a CAD Technician to support the Project Management team within the Grid Technologies division. You will deliver detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings for high-voltage substations, focusing on cable system design and drafting, while ensuring QA and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3–5 years as a CAD Technician in HV/power utilities preferred.
• Experience working independently on design tasks in a project-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and manage detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for HV cable systems based on engineering inputs.
• Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and termination drawings for substations; ensure compliance with BS/ENA and project specs.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to interpret design requirements and resolve technical queries.
• Prepare drawing packages for tender, construction, and handover stages.
• Maintain drawing register and control CAD documentation in the CDE; perform QA checks for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in BOMs and material take-offs from drawings.
