Job summary

Network Rail High Speed Ltd. is responsible for operating and maintaining the UK's only international high-speed railway, HS1, including three international stations.

The role sits within the Track Engineering team, providing governance, technical assurance and support for safe management of high-speed track infrastructure. You will combine practical site experience with technical analysis to support risk-based maintenance, renewal decisions and improvements in data capture and analysis across

Qualifications

  • Experience in track inspection, maintenance or asset management, preferably on high-speed infrastructure.
  • Comfortable working on site and with technical information, and able to communicate findings clearly.
  • Knowledge of high-speed switches and crossings, data analysis or programming techniques is advantageous.
  • Understanding of permanent way assets, track geometry and asset degradation mechanisms.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct planned and reactive inspections of high-speed track assets and collect condition data.
  • Review inspection findings, monitor outputs and maintenance records to identify deterioration and risks.
  • Contribute to engineering investigations, standards development and data-led improvements to asset information.
  • Support risk-based maintenance and renewal decisions across the high-speed network.
  • Prepare inspection reports, technical summaries and data-led recommendations.
