Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a School Security Officer for Hampton High in Hampton City Schools. This is a full-time 10-month position. You will patrol buildings, monitor cameras, and enforce policies to maintain a safe school environment.

The role requires standing for long periods, responding to emergencies, and coordinating with police and staff. You will prepare incident reports and may testify when needed.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Some related security experience in a public school setting preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and respond to emergencies promptly.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned buildings and grounds and monitors security cameras to prevent disruptions and maintain safety.
• Maintains high visibility as students arrive, depart, and change classes.
• Enforces School Board and school policies for conduct on school property.
• Confronts unauthorized persons, detains or calls police as necessary.
• Assists staff in stopping altercations and disruptive behavior.
• Performs security checks, metal detector searches, and incident reporting.
• Testifies in court or before the School Board as required.
• Collaborates with public safety personnel responding to calls on school grounds.
• Participates in fire drills and emergency evacuations.
• May activate alarms and secure the building as needed.
