TXM Recruit is working exclusively with a rail manufacturing and maintenance business that is looking for 2 x System Technicians to assist with the introduction of a new locomotive fleet.

About the Role

Based out of Leicester, with frequent travel within a 4-hour radius around Leicester as part of a shift. Occasional UK-wide travel may also be required.

Responsibilities:

1. Work on a shift pattern that includes days, nights, and weekends (TBD).
2. Extensive travel required for training, including UK sites and European locations.
3. Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification or Advanced Modern Apprenticeship required.
4. Full Sentinel medical and D+A clearance required.
5. Candidates must be comfortable working trackside on mainline railway.
6. Interview process involves two stages: initial Teams interview, followed by a site visit and practical test.

Salary starts at £45,000 and rises to £48,000, with a 20% shift allowance applicable from the start of employment.

Required Skills:

1. High-level technician skills, including mobile response, fault finding, and VMI exams.
2. Experience in passenger or rail freight operations is essential.
3. Electrical bias preferred (ideally 70% electrical, 30% mechanical).
