Job description

We are working with a leading global investment bank seeking to strengthen its Execution Trading capabilities within its London Global Markets business.

We are interested in speaking with experienced Associate to junior Director-level traders with a strong background in high-frequency execution, electronic trading and managing institutional client flow across liquid financial markets.

The opportunity sits within an established international trading franchise, combining sophisticated execution technology, institutional client coverage and access to global liquidity.

The Role

The successful candidate will play an integral role in the execution trading business, working closely with trading, sales, quantitative and technology teams to deliver efficient execution and manage trading risk.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Executing high-volume, time-sensitive institutional order flow across relevant financial products.
• Monitoring market liquidity, order book dynamics, transaction costs and execution performance.
• Managing execution risk and market exposure within established trading and risk parameters.
• Working with electronic trading and quantitative teams to enhance execution strategies, algorithms and trading workflows.
• Identifying opportunities to improve pricing, execution quality, liquidity access and operational efficiency.
• Maintaining a strong understanding of market microstructure, trading venues and evolving electronic market structures.
• Collaborating with sales, trading, technology and risk teams to support the continued development of the execution franchise.

Candidate Profile

We are particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate:

• Experience in execution trading, electronic trading or high-frequency trading within an investment bank, broker-dealer or established institutional trading platform.
• A strong understanding of market microstructure, liquidity provision, order execution and transaction cost analysis.
• Experience managing institutional trading flow and executing efficiently in fast-moving markets.
• Familiarity with algorithmic execution, electronic trading platforms and execution management systems.
• Strong analytical capabilities, commercial judgement and an understanding of trading risk.
• The ability to work effectively with sales, quantitative research, technology and wider trading teams.
• A demonstrable record of contributing to execution performance, trading revenues or client outcomes.

Experience across electronic execution, high-touch trading, market-making or algorithmic trading environments will be particularly relevant.
