Job summary

UPS in Huthwaite is seeking a HGV Yard Shunter to manage scanning of packages, ensure safe loading, and assist with loading/unloading using pallet trucks. The role is based at Nunn Brook Road, NG17 2HU, with a 40-hour week Sunday to Thursday, 20:30–05:00.

Salary is £31,489.46 and a valid HGV licence is required. The successful candidate will operate in a fast-paced warehouse environment, maintain safety and compliance, and support vehicle movements and EPOD processes as part of a dedicated UPS

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV licence for yard work.
• Experience in loading/unloading with appropriate equipment.
• Willingness to work a Sunday-Thursday shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Manage scanning of packages or pallets to vehicles for despatch.
• Ensure safe and secure loading of consignments using straps or loading bars.
• Assist with loading/unloading using pallet trucks.
• Ensure vehicle is in temperature before loading.
• Move vehicles on and off loading bays.
• Report defects per reporting process to the line manager.
• Adhere to UK HGV driving legislation.
• Demonstrate professional and safe driving at all times.
• Maintain smart appearance.
• Move finished goods within warehouse to bays using equipment.
• Organise loads within bays prior to loading.
• General housekeeping and EPOD completion.
• Undertake other tasks as directed by management.
