Job summary

Kautec Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Workshop Engineer for a role in Reading on an early shift. You will inspect and service a varied fleet, ensuring high standards of maintenance and reliability.

The position requires time-served skills and a strong understanding of heavy vehicle systems. Ideal candidates will hold City & Guilds or NVQ qualifications, with IRTEC or EV qualifications and HGV class 1 or 2 licences considered advantageous.

Qualifications

• Qualified and time served heavy vehicle technician.
• Fully qualified City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Routine (and preventative) maintenance within a diverse HGV fleet.
• MOT preparation in line with DVSA standards.
• Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards.
• 6 (or 8) weekly inspections.
• Correction of running defects.
• Chassis and fabrication work.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics work.
• Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections.
• Efforts to improve vehicle standards.
