Job summary

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an experienced HGV Vehicle Technician for the workshop at Headquarters in Stocklake, Aylesbury. The role covers servicing, repairing and maintaining emergency vehicles and fleet support equipment.

Applicants should hold NVQ Level 3 Heavy Vehicle or equivalent, with a full driving licence (LGV preferred) and proven CAN electrical fault finding skills. On-call duties apply weekly.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience of servicing, repairing, and diagnosing faults on light commercial and heavy vehicles, within a professional Workshop environment.
• NVQ Level 3 Heavy Vehicle qualification (or equivalent e.g. City and Guilds)
• Full driving licence, ideally with category C entitlement (LGV)
• Experience in electrical fault finding on vehicle CAN systems

Responsibilities

• Servicing, repairing, and maintaining the fleet of emergency vehicles, plant, equipment and light vehicles that support Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service.
• Work to high standards in a busy workshop environment.
• Assist in keeping vehicles safe, compliant and roadworthy.
