Job summary

Attega Group is seeking a HGV Trainee Drainage Engineer in the Dartford area. The role involves working across Dartford and surroundings to conduct drainage works for maintenance and emergency response. Training is provided to become a HGV Lead Engineer with opportunities for overtime and a pension.

Hours are 50 per week including nights and early mornings, with weekends and on-call shifts possible. DBS checks and drug testing are part of the client’s process.

Qualifications

• Must hold an HGV Class 2 licence and be willing to learn the drainage industry.
• Willing to operate HGV drainage vehicles and perform jetting and tanker duties.
• Able to work nights, weekends and overtime as training requires.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate HGV drainage vehicles (jetting, vacuum tanker, combo units).
• Perform drain, sewer and wastewater cleaning with high-pressure jetting equipment.
• Empty sludge, sewage, waste and contaminated materials safely and transport it.
• Attend emergency drainage call-outs, blockages, flooding and spillages.
• Use vacuum equipment to remove liquids, sludge and debris from drains, tanks and chambers.
• Set up hoses, barriers, signage and traffic management at work locations.
• Inspect drainage systems and identify blockages, damage or other issues.
• Complete vehicle checks and report defects per procedures.
• Follow health and safety, environmental and waste-disposal regulations.
• Complete job sheets, waste transfer documentation and other required paperwork.

HGV Trainee Tanker Drainage Engineer (No Drainage Experience required, Full Training Provided)

Salary: £37,000

Location: Dartford

Hours: 50 hours per week, will consist of nights and early mornings. Looking for someone who is happy to work weekends. Overtime and on call available.

Attega Group is looking for a HGV Trainee Drainage Engineer to join the reactive team for a large successful Drainage company based in Dartford area. The HGV Trainee Drainage Engineer will be operating across Dartford and surrounding areas, you'll visit various client sites, including industrial estates, retail parks, shopping centres, and office buildings to conduct drainage works for both planned maintenance and emergency response.

Responsibilities supporting the Lead Engineers:

• Driving and operating HGV drainage vehicles, such as jetting, vacuum tanker and combination units.
• Carrying out drain, sewer and wastewater cleaning using high-pressure water jetting equipment.
• Emptying and transporting sludge, sewage, waste and contaminated materials safely.
• Attending emergency drainage call-outs, blockages, flooding and spillages.
• Using vacuum equipment to remove liquids, sludge and debris from drains, tanks and chambers.
• Setting up hoses, barriers, signage and traffic management at work locations.
• Inspecting drainage systems and identifying blockages, damage or other issues.
• Completing vehicle checks and reporting defects in accordance with company procedures.
• Following health and safety, environmental and waste-disposal regulations.
• Completing job sheets, waste transfer documentation and other required paperwork.
• Communicating professionally with customers, site managers and colleagues.
• Keeping the HGV, equipment and work area clean, safe and maintained.
• Working flexible hours, including early starts, nights, weekends or on-call shifts, where required.

The ideal HGV Trainee Drainage Engineer will hold their Class 2 and be willing to learn the Drainage industry including high pressure water jetting and operating a tanker.
